The GED® test is a second chance to put education first.

Every other Monday 6:00pm in the Bevill Building - Room 408
If 18 years of age or older, bring:
    Valid Alabama ID (Drivers License or State ID)
    Social Security Card
    Receipt from WSCC cashier ($50 for first time testers)
If 17 years of age also bring:
    Student Exit Interview Form
    Notarized Parent Permission note
If 16 years of age also bring:
    Exemption Form from school superintendent 
Test dates will be issued when ALL of required paperwork is on file with GED Examiner
Accommodations are available upon request.

The GED test is your chance to get the job or career you want. The GED test credential is the only high school equivalency credential recognized in all 50 states.

The 2014 GED Test Specifications
  • Four content areas: $30 per subject
    • Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) (150 minutes)
    • Mathematical Reasoning (90 minutes)
    • Science (90 minutes)
    • Social Studies (90 minutes)
  • English and Spanish
  • Three opportunities to test per year, per content area
  • Seven different item types:
    • Extended response
    • Drag-and-drop
    • Drop-down
    • Fill-in-the-blank
    • Hot spot
    • Multiple choice
    • Short answer
  • Delivered on computer (not online)
  • Paper testing only available as an accommodation
